INGLEWOOD, CA – January 4, 2006- With the retirement of City Administrator, Mark Weinberg, effective December 30, 2005, Inglewood City Council has appointed Joseph T. Rouzan, Jr. as Interim City Administrator, while the City conducts a nation-wide search for the permanent replacement.
Joe Rouzan is a household name in Inglewood, retiring as City Administrator in 2003, having served the City for five years in this top post. Mr. Rouzan has been in municipal government for more than 40 years, including serving as Police Chief, and Deputy City Manager for the City of Inglewood, years before he served as City Administrator. Rouzan has also held top administrative posts for the cities of Long Beach and Compton, and was an elected member of the Inglewood School Board. Joe Rouzan began his public service career in the City of Los Angeles in the Police Department, and worked his way through the ranks before exploring other cities.
After retiring from Inglewood, Rouzan worked as Chief of Staff for his good friend, Bernard Parks, Los Angeles City Councilman.
Mr. Rouzan’s career in public service has been exemplary and Inglewood City officials, staff and the entire community are honored to have him to return home during this critical transition period.
