Emergency Shelter

EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANT (ESG) PROGRAM

The Emergency Shelter Grant program was authorized by the Homeless Act of 1986. Funds allocated to the City are used to help improve the quality of existing emergency shelter for the homeless, to help make available additional emergency shelters, and to meet the costs of operating shelter and providing essential services to the homeless.

The City of Inglewood contracts with two agencies to provide a provision of homeless services. They are St. Margaret's Center and People Assisting the Homeless (P.A.T.H).

St. Margaret's Center provides the following services:

  • Case Management
  • Food Pantry
  • Motel Vouchers
  • Resource Referrals

PATH provides the following services:

  • Case Management
  • Temporary Emergency Shelter
  • Computer Education & Training
  • Employment Referral & Job Placement Assistance
  • Budget Counseling
