The
City of Inglewood has a proud heritage that blends agricultural roots with
aviation history and the accomplishments of generations of sports and
entertainment legends. Today, nestled between the vibrant Los Angeles
Westside and the sun drenched South Bay, Inglewood is a culturally rich and
ethnically diverse community.
Inglewood’s storied history includes a tradition of public service that
rivals those of California’s best-managed cities. Approximately 1,000 full
and part-time employees in eleven separate operating departments, fueled
with a $200 million annual operating budget, share the common goal of
providing you the finest municipal services anywhere. Their dedication and
collective talent is guided by a visionary and supportive Mayor and City
Council. The result is an enhanced quality of life, and a record of
sustained growth and progress.
The City
Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day management of the City of
Inglewood, for setting operational goals, and for implementing legislative
action and policy decisions approved by the Mayor and City Council. The City
Administrator prepares the City’s annual operating budget, oversees the
personnel system, and provides direction to all City Departments to ensure they
meet the needs of the community. Other principal duties of the City
Administrator’s Office include legislative analysis, intergovernmental
relations, community relations, strategic planning and the dissemination of
public information. The Office of the City Administrator employs modern
business, management and supervisory principles and practices, and is guided by
the Code of Ethnics adopted by the International City/County Management
Association (ICMA).
