| | | | | | | | | | | | Meet the City Administrator |  | | Timothy E. Wanamaker, City Administrator Mr. Wanamaker has held the position of City Administrator since April 14, 2008. In this role, Mr. Wanamaker manages and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the City. Mr. Wanamaker oversees a combined budget of over $360 million and a staff of over 770 full-time employees. Since coming to Inglewood, Mr. Wanamaker immediately developed and deployed the “Team Inglewood” initiative, which is aimed at providing a heightened level of customer service for the citizens, businesses, and visitors in and to the City of Inglewood. In addition, Mr. Wanamaker successfully negotiated the $2 billion dollar Hollywood Park Tomorrow development project for the City and Redevelopment Agency which will facilitate significant increase to the City’s tax base. Mr. Wanamaker comes to Inglewood from the City of Buffalo where he held the position of Executive Director of the Office of Strategic Planning. With the position, Mr. Wanamaker also held the positions of Vice Chairman of the Buffalo Urban Renewal Agency, which is the Chief Operating Officer of the agency, and President of the Buffalo Economic Renaissance Corporation (BERC), the City’s non-profit community economic development agency, which led a renaissance in the City of Buffalo’s economic position resulting in projects valued at more than $4.6 billion upon his departure. While in Buffalo, Mr. Wanamaker created and managed a multitude of community development projects which have received local, regional and national recognition and awards. Mr. Wanamaker also held senior executive positions in Prince George’s County, Maryland, as Deputy Chief of the Prince George’s County Redevelopment Authority and Vice President of the Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation. Mr. Wanamaker was responsible for the management of the Authority’s neighborhood economic development projects and programs, as well as the overall management of the County’s $10 million Commercial Building Loan Fund. He also led a successful effort to secure a $10 million allocation of New Market Tax Credits for Prince George’s County, one of only sixty-six (66) organizations in the country to receive an allocation in the first year of the program. Mr. Wanamaker has a diverse combination of work experience in the public sector including economic development, planning, housing, public administration and management. Mr. Wanamaker graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies and a Masters Degree in Urban & Regional Planning with a concentration in economic development. Mr. Wanamaker also holds a degree in Architecture and has been certified as an Economic Development Finance Professional by the National Development Council. Mr. Wanamaker has also received certificates for Economic Development Planning from the International City/County Management Association and Council for Urban Economic Development. | |
