Mr. Saunders has over thirty years of diversified experience in Criminal Law, Administrative Law and Municipal Law. He has been the City Attorney of the City of Inglewood since June, 2007. Prior to being hired as the City Attorney for the City of Inglewood, he was the Acting City Attorney from August 2006 until June 2007. Prior to Mr. Saunders appointment to Acting City Attorney, he was a Senior Assistant City Attorney for the City.
Mr. Saunders has also previously served as a Deputy City Attorney III in the City of Compton. Mr. Saunders was also in private practice for ten years. Prior to that, he was an attorney in the Office of General Counsel at the Federal Communications Commission, in Washington D.C. for eight years.
Mr. Saunders earned his juris doctorate (law degree) from Hastings College of Law in San Francisco, California. He was awarded an undergraduate degree from Long Beach State University in Long Beach, California. He graduated from Verbum Dei High School in Los Angeles, California.
Mr. Saunders is married and has three children, one daughter and two sons. His daughter is a Deputy Attorney General. One son is a Captain in the Los Angeles Fire Department and the other son is a Paramedic in the Los Angeles Fire Department.
