Newbery Medal Award - Winners and Honor Books
The Newbery Medal is awarded annually by the American Library Association for the most distinguished American children's book published the previous year. It is named for the eighteenth-century English bookseller John Newbery.
Caldecott Medal Award - Winners and Honor Books
The Caldecott Medal is awarded to the artist of the most distinguished American Picture Book for Children published in the United States during the preceding year. The award goes to the artist, who must be a citizen or resident of the United States, whether or not he or she is the author of the text.
Coretta Scott King Award - Winners and Honor Books
The Coretta Scott King Award is presented annually by the Coretta Scott King Task Force of the American Library Association's Ethnic Multicultural Information Exchange Round Table ( EMIERT). Recipients are authors and illustrators of African descent whose distinguished books promote an understanding and appreciation of the "American Dream."
Michael L. Printz Award - Winners and Honor Books
The Michael L. Printz Award is an award for a book that exemplifies literary excellence in young adult literature. It is named for a Topeka, Kansas school librarian who was a long-time active member of the Young Adult Library Services Association.
The Robert F. Sibert Informational Book Award - Winners and Honor Books
The Sibert Award was established by the Association for Library Service to Children in 2001. It is awarded annually to the author of the most distinguished informational book published in English during the preceding year. The award is named in honor of Robert F. Sibert, the long-time President of Bound to Stay Bound Books, Inc. of Jacksonville, Illinois, and is sponsored by the company.
Pura Belpré Award
For an Latino/Latina writer and illustrator whose work best portrays, affirms,and celebrates the Latino cultural experience in an outstanding work of literature for children and youth.
Scott O'Dell Historical Fiction Award
Presented for a work of historical fiction published by a U.S. publisher and set in the New World

Sydney Taylor Book Awards
Award for the most distinguished contribution to Jewish childrens literature.
Children's Literature Council of Southern California
