The Inglewood Public Library has contracted with a collection agency, Unique Management Services, Inc., which specializes in the recovery of overdue library materials and outstanding fines and fees. The Library will continue to notify patrons by telephone for several weeks when items are overdue, and to bill patrons for lost materials. If these materials are still not returned, replaced or paid for, accounts will be referred to Unique in an attempt to recover the billed charges.

Visitors to Inglewood's Civic Center are impressed and often puzzled with the unique Library art work. The sculpted walls of the Lecture Hall and Library Stair Well (adjacent to Manchester Boulevard) were designed to stimulate curiosity and imagination. They trace the evolution of human intelligence through Mankind's common bond--"The Word." (Photo copyright by Ginger Van Hook, used by permission)

The Inglewood Public Library has successfully completed a Local History Digital Resources Project grant from the California Digital Library and the California State Library. Inglewood was selected as a participant in part in recognition of 2008 being the City's centennial year. The project provided for the digitization of 200 images, which now form the core of what will become a larger collection.
The digital images will be displayed in future months on this web site, but a collection of 183 images may be viewed on the website of the Online Archive of California. City departments, the Inglewood Unified School District, and the Inglewood-Airport Area Chamber of Commerce provided photographs and other materials.
