The library's resources include

  • More than 400,000 volumes at the Main Library and branches
  • Approximately 1,500 magazine subscriptions
  • Professional Librarians to assist adults and children all hours the Main Library is open
  • A broad collection of pamphlets, road maps, commercial catalogs, and company and government agency annual reports

Legal Information

The Inglewood Public Library is not a full-service law library, but we do carry some law-related materials.

United States Code, Annotated, Supreme Court Reporter, Supreme Court Digest, Code of Federal Regulations, Martindale-Hubbell directory and law summaries

California
West's California Codes Annotated, California Reports (State Supreme Court decisions), California Appellate Reports (decisions of the California Courts of Appeal and the Appellate Division of Superior Courts), West's California Reporter, California Code of Regulations (microfiche, available at the Reference Desk, along with a print index), West's California Digest, and Cal Jur III (legal encyclopedia. We also carry the Inglewood Municipal Code, Los Angeles Municipal Code, and Los Angeles County ordinances.

General
Materials on obtaining patent, copyright, and trademark protection; do-it-yourself resources for non-profit and for-profit corporations, wills, divorce/dissolution, and more

Tax Information
A broad spectrum of resources pertaining to California and U.S. taxation is maintained separately from the general law collection. Tax forms, both state and federal, for the current tax year are available free in the lobby of the Main Library beginning February 1 of each year. Copies of older tax forms may be photocopied from books at the Information Desk on the first floor, or downloaded from the Internet. Examples of what is available in the Tax Information Section include:
