How To Find
Health Information On The Internet
Popular media--magazines, newspapers, radio, television, and the Internet--are
devoting more time and space to health and wellness information. Stories on
preventing and treating cancer, heart disease, stroke, and other ailments
pervade the media. Advances in medical research have led to the eradication of
smallpox. Diseases such as cancer, which were automatic death sentences forty to
fifty years ago, are treatable, and many patients lead long, healthy, active
lives.
Some of the information on these pages is
from a workshop on consumer health resources presented by Victoria Kleine,
Ph.D., as part of the InFoPeople project. Others are from the
Librarians' Index to the Internet.
