Volunteer Opportunities

The Parks, Recreation and Library Services Department actively recruits volunteers of all ages through its Volunteer Management Program to assist with a variety of programs ranging from coaching sports to delivering meals to homebound senior citizens. Training and supervision are provided. If you are looking for something meaningful to do to assist the community, call (310) 412-8750 and a staff member will assist you. Current opportunities include:

Volunteers for Senior Services: through the Inglewood Senior Center, which is a Focal Point for senior services and activities, many volunteers are needed to serve and deliver meals, call and visit home-bound seniors, assist with activities, provide information and assistance, serve as escorts on senior vans and perform many special services.

Coach: volunteers are trained and placed as coaches for basketball, soccer, football, tennis, track and field, baseball etc.

Recreation Aide: assist youngsters with homework assignments, supervise indoor/outdoor recreation activities, including arts and crafts, health and safety, music and more.

Aide for Summer Lunch Program for Youth: assist in distributing and serving food to children.

Inglewood Beautification Association: volunteers "Adopt a Plot" and plant and maintain flowers, enhancing the beauty of Inglewood.

Park Service Worker: join a work crew to improve the upkeep and appearance of parks, medians, and other green or vacant areas in the City.

Inglewood Historic Site Committee: for those interested in preserving the historic resources of Inglewood; meets once a month.
