Engineering Division

The Engineering Division plans, designs, inspects and administers contracts for capital improvement construction projects, water systems and facility projects, including:

  • Streets improvements, park facilities and redevelopment
  • Supervising activities of the water treatment plant
  • Administering the City’s underground utility district projects
  • Issuing permits and inspecting all private construction work within the public right-of-way

    Attention: ALL INGLEWOOD PROPERTY OWNERS
    NO CONSTRUCTION OR EXCAVATION WORK IS ALLOWED WITHIN THE City of Inglewood RIGHT OF WAY (WHICH INCLUDES THE SIDEWALK AND PARKWAY) WITHOUT A PERMIT FROM THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT. TO OBTAIN A CONSTRUCTION OR EXCAVATION PERMIT, YOU MUST BE A LICENSED & INSURED CONTRACTOR.

    ALL CONTRACTORS APPLYING FOR EXCAVATION PERMITS OR CONSTRUCTION PERMITS FOR CONCRETE WORK (CURB & GUTTER, DRIVEWAY APPROACHES, SIDEWALKS, PEDESTRIAN RAMPS, ETC) MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF A VALID CONTRACTOR’S LICENSE AND PROOF OF LIABLITY INSURANCE ($1,000,000 minimum) TO OBTAIN A PERMIT.

  • Processing all new tract and parcel maps
  • Producing, treating and purchasing an adequate quantity of safe drinking water for the consumers within the City’s service area
