Environmental Services Division

As a part of the Public Works Department, Environmental Services is responsible for the planning, developing and implementation of citywide programs, which include solid waste management and household hazardous waste management.

The Public Works Department is proud of its commitment to Environmental Services. Last year of our community generated over 120 tons of waste, through the effort sour management, and with the help of residents and business alike we managed to recycle 42% of this waste…this was great, but we can’t rest there.

The City and its residents place a great value on preserving precious resources that is why we believe it is important to offer programs that promote a healthy environment and improving Inglewood’s quality of life.

In order to provide the City with quality services and to comply with the State of California’s, Solid waste Reduction Goal of 50%; we are working diligently to enhance the community’s recycling opportunities. Our plans for the near future are to implement Residential and Business Curbside Recycling, Construction and Demolition handling along with green waste reuse and composting activities. We feel comprehensive and convenient opportunities will allow the community to put waste in its proper place.

Beyond managing waste and debris after it has been generated we will work on emphasizing the importance of waste avoidance, Remember: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
