The Recreation and Cultural Division offers and conducts programs with the objective of offering the community opportunities to participate in a variety of recreational and cultural activities for all ages. The basic goal of the Division is to provide for the recreational and cultural well being of residents and citizens through the provision of programs and activities at the City’s 13 park and recreation centers and through regularly scheduled Citywide special events.
Our role is to help the community enjoy life.
The services that we provide as recreation professionals are life changing. We develop the individual's sense of mind, body and purpose through exercise, sports, health, introspection, self-improvement, friendship, and fun.
The division offers diverse cultural events, sports activities and enrichment classes for individuals ages 2 to 102.
Offerings include:
- Early Childhood Development Classes (Pre-school)
- Day Camps
- Sports (baseball, football, track and field, swimming, tennis, boxing and others)
- Cultural/enrichment classes (dance, fitness, art, drama and computer classes, and more)
- After School Programs
- Boys and Girls Club
- Mobile Recreation Program
- Aquatics
- Special events and activities (Dr. Martin Luther King Day, Cesar Chavez Day, Health Fair, Memorial Day, Fourth of July Celebration and Fireworks Show, Inglewood Celebrates the Arts Market Street Festival, Halloween, Holiday Tree Lighting, and Santa’s Workshop).
