Don't miss out on the free lunches offered to youth 18 and under at eight different locations in Inglewood.   Free lunches will be served Monday through Friday, from June 20 - August 31.

Meals will be provided at the following locations:  Ashwood Park (201 S. Ash Avenue); Edward Vincent Jr. Park (700 Warren Lane); Darby Park (3400 W. Arbor Vitae Avenue); Lockhaven Community Center (11125 S. Doty Avenue); Rogers Park (400 W. Beach Avenue); Siminski Park (9717 S. Inglewood Avenue); the Inglewood Main Library (101 West Manchester Boulevard); and Frank D. Parent School (5354 West 64th Street).

Menus consist of hot and cold foods, such as spaghetti, corn dogs, burritos and sandwiches. As a special treat this year, pizza will be served every Friday.  Milk, fruit and dessert items are also served.  Free meals will only be available to program participants 18 years of age and younger.  Accompanying adults are encouraged to bring their lunch so the group can eat together.

"I want to urge Inglewood residents to have our youngsters participate in this worthwhile, beneficial program," said Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts, Jr.  "The federal government has provided funds to assure that children receive wholesome meals during the summer and we should make sure that Inglewood children take full advantage of this free program."

The Summer Food Service Program is funded through a grant from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and a grant from the National Recreation and Parks Association and Walmart Foundation.
