Redevelopment Works in Inglewood

This is done through a number of mechanisms, including the creation of affordable housing, commercial, industrial and retail development that creates job opportunities and stimulate the economic base.  Inglewood’s Mayor & City Council members serve as the Inglewood Redevelopment Agency’s Board of Directors.  They provide policy direction to staff to ensure that redevelopment objectives are being addressed and met.  The California Redevelopment Association publishes A Citizens Guide to Redevelopment which details the fundamental purpose of redevelopment and the impacts upon blighted communities.  To receive a copy of this publication, please contact the Inglewood Redevelopment Agency at (310) 412-5290.

Bringing Affordable New Homes to Inglewood

The Redevelopment Agency constructed two detached town home condominiums that it sold to moderate-income individuals and families.  One house has four (4) bedrooms and the other has three (3).   The sales prices of the three bedroom and four bedroom homes are $205,000 and $215,000 respectively.  Pursuant to affordable housing regulations, there are income restrictions associated with the sale of these homes.  In other words, there are maximum income standards, based on household size, that determine eligibility for program participation.
