Nationally known performers will join local dancers, singers, choirs, painters, musicians, poets and other talents to be showcased during the City's Cultural Awareness Celebration, taking place at the Veterans Memorial Building in Vincent Park on February 29, 2004. Vincent Park is located at 330 Centinela Avenue (at the corner of Centinela Avenue and Warren Lane).
The event, “Celebrating the Past, The Present, and The Future,” is designed to spotlight Inglewood’s rich cultural diversity. It is the City’s third annual Cultural Awareness Celebration, and it’s free to the public.
All are invited to join the celebration as we showcase a wealth of talented individuals while spotlighting Inglewood’s youth and others. Program participants will include the Wanda Wallace Art Foundation, Versatiles, Darina Littleton, Performing Arts Studio West, Agalliao, Capoeira Angola Center, Lumani, Janelle Ross, All that Dance, and the Fantasia Dance Ensemble, to name a few.
In addition to new artists, well known performers, including Coco Brown, Andre Henry, Caribbean Exchange and Lorenzo have agreed to participate. The program kicks off at 2:00 p.m., with continuous performances until 5:30 p.m.
