57th Annual Memorial Day Ceremonies: City Remembers War Veterans
On Monday, May 30, 2005, the City of Inglewood will host its 57th Annual Memorial Day Celebration.  The ceremonies will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. in front of the Memorial Obelisk Monument at Inglewood City Hall Mall located at One Manchester Boulevard.

The City’s commemorative ceremonies will celebrate the lives of war heroes from the City of Inglewood and also pay tribute to the courageous men and women who are currently serving in the armed forces.  Over 30 local and community-based organizations will take part in the ceremonies.

Immediately following the ceremony, the celebration will continue at the Inglewood Park Cemetery.  To commemorate their 100th anniversary, Inglewood Park Cemetery will host a community picnic.  The picnic will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the Cemetery’s north lawn (near the Florence Avenue entrance).  A picnic lunch will be served.  There will also be entertainment and arts and crafts.  Inglewood Park Cemetery is located at 720 Florence Avenue.

Shuttle service, from Inglewood City Hall (near the Memorial Obelisk) to Inglewood Park Cemetery, will be provided for individuals wishing to attend the picnic.  Shuttles will depart immediately after the memorial service and every 15 minutes thereafter.

All are invited to join the City of Inglewood and Inglewood Park Cemetery in paying tribute to the nation’s and Inglewood’s heroic servicemen and women.
