Library DivisionsAdult ServicesMAIN Library Phone: 310-412-5384 email: adultservices@cityofinglewood.org Adult Services Division strives to transform the library into an informational hub by skillfully adapting library services to meet the community's needs. Librarians in this division assist with digital literacy, navigating the internet, and using the library catalog and e-resources. Our collection and programs aim to create an inclusive and vibrant literacy culture. Children's Services MAIN Library Phone: 310-412-5645 email: childrensservices@cityofinglewood.org Children's Services Division provides services for children from birth to age 13. The division maintains a public service desk staffed by professional librarians who provide reference help and Readers' Advisory (recommendations for reading). The Children's Librarians present many programs for children and their parents, including weekly Early Literacy for Families (ELF) programming: Storytime for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers, Family and Pajama Storytime, and Bilingual Storytime. Other programs include Block Building, Wii, Coding Classes, BINGO, Movies, and STEM programs. The Children's Librarians also conduct school visits where they go to a school to talk about the public library and its services. The library welcomes class visits where students and their teachers come to the library for an orientation or other customized program. Circulation Services MAIN Library Phone: 310-412-5387 email: circulationservices@cityofinglewood.org Circulation Services Division includes registration for new library cards, the check-in and check-out of library materials, and notification to borrowers when reserved materials are available. They are also responsible for Stack Maintenance -- the shelving of books and the verification that the bookshelves are in the correct order. Crenshaw-Imperial Branch Library Phone: 310-412-5403 email: branchservices@cityofinglewood.org Branch Library Services provides library services and resources that reflect the needs and interests of the branch community. The Crenshaw Imperial Branch Library provides Reference, Readers' Advisory, and programming for adults and children. Servicios a la Comunidad Hispana / Hispanic Services MAIN Library Phone: 310-412-5384 email: hispanicservices@cityofinglewood.org Servicios a la Comunidad Hispana / Hispanic Services oversees two extensive collections of library materials in Spanish -- one in the Adult section and one in the Children's area. The library also offers programs conducted in Spanish, including a Bilingual Storytime and a Spanish Storytime in the Children's Services Division. Teen Services MAIN Library Phone: 310-412-5384 email: teenservices@cityofinglewood.org Teen Services Division curates a collection aimed at the specific interests and needs of teens in grades nine and up. Librarians partner with Inglewood Unified School District, local organizations, parents, and Teen Advisory Boards to ensure a diverse collection, programs, and services that encourage team building, neighborhood activism, and community growth. Relevant print and digital resources assist with recreational activities, leisure learning, skill building, homework help, college preparation, and career readiness benefitting teens with their future endeavors. |
