Welcome! Library Card250 - icon Opens in new windowThe Inglewood Public Libraries offer both Library Cards and Digital Library Cards. 

Library Cards – get FULL access to all books, online databases, movies, eMedia, public-use computers, study rooms, and more. 

To apply for a library card, you must be a California resident with a CA photo ID such as your valid Driver's License, State ID, and/or proof of current address. Apply for a library card at an Inglewood Public Library location near you.

For library cards of children 14 and under, a parent/guardian must sign the application. Library cards are not transferable.

Digital Cards – get access to online databases and downloadable eMedia only. You may upgrade your digital card for FULL access by visiting one of our libraries. Get a digital card now!

If your library card is lost, please call 310-412-5387 or inform the Circulation Services Division staff.

If you forget your library card, a temporary one may be requested. If you have lost your library card, a replacement one may be requested free of charge. Be prepared to present proof of address and a photo ID.

Borrower Privileges

Books and materials may be checked out from the Main Library or the Crenshaw Imperial Branch Library and returned to either library. You may borrow up to 25 items per card. Items may be checked out and kept for the following periods:

  • Adult and Children's Books
3 weeksup to 25 books per card
  • Blu-rays / DVDs
7 days4 DVDs per card
  • Video Games*
7 days2 video games per card

*Parent/guardian must be present for patrons under 14 yrs. of age to check out video games.


Renewing Books by Phone or Online

Library books and DVDs may be renewed once if the item has no holds.

To renew by phone: Call 310-412-5387. To renew online: Click on Access Your Library Account.

Type in the library barcode number from the back of your card, then your PIN. (If you did not change it, the PIN will be the last 4 digits of the phone number you provided when opening the account). After clicking "Log In," you may view and renew materials that have been checked out.


Requesting Books Online

Patrons may place a hold on books free of charge and receive the next available copy. Go to the Library Catalog and "Search Catalog." Find the item you want; on the right of the screen, click the "Place Hold" tab. Enter your library barcode number from the back of your card, then your PIN. Log in and follow the instructions on the screen. You will be notified by phone when the item is available.
