Below is a complete list of the programs and events held at the Crenshaw-Imperial Branch. There’s always something to do at the library, and new events are added frequently. Anyone 17 years-old or below is welcome to a free meal at the library, courtesy of Better 4 You Meals.

Mondays, 3:30 p.m.

Join us every Monday for interactive learning experiments emphasizing concepts of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. For ages 4-12.

E.L.F. (Early Literacy for Families) Storytime Programs

Baby Storytime: Monday, 10:30 a.m.

Spend a wonderful time bonding with your baby and lay the foundation for lifelong literacy through fun rhymes, fingerplays, stories, and songs. Ages 0-18 months. Part of the "1000 Books Before Kindergarten" program.

Toddler Storytime: Monday, 11:30 a.m.

You and your toddler are invited to a morning of fun and educational stories, fingerplays, action rhymes, songs, and dancing. Ages 18 months to 3 years. Part of the "1000 Books Before Kindergarten" program.

Bilingual Storytime: Tuesdays, 11:00 a.m.

We welcome children of all ages to join us for stories, songs, and crafts every week, prepared English and Spanish.

Enjoy an afternoon of using your creativity with building blocks. For children of all ages.

Have questions on how to get the most use out of your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or other personal electronic device? Bring it by the Crenshaw-Imperial Branch Library on Wednsedays and our staff will help you learn to download, upload, email, text, and more. Before you know it, you'll be using technology like a professional.

My First Tie Book Release Reception

Saturday, February 23 at 11:00 a.m.

Families are invited to the grand unveiling of My First Tie, the second title in local author Tanae Denean Eskridge's children's book series, illustrated by local artist Brandon M. Frame. The book release will feature engaging family activities such as tie tying lessons, poetry, and discussion of the inspirational story behind the book. Light refreshments will be served.

Thursdays, 3:00 p.m.

Students grades Pre-K to 12 are invited to receive help with their school assignments from a certified Teacher-Librarian. The librarian will do his best to give all attendees equal attention, but space may be limited.

Chess for All Ages

Thursdays, 4:30 p.m.

Come exercise your mind with the cerebral yet relaxing game of chess. It's one of the oldest board games in the world, but remains just as fun as ever. All are welcome, even if you’ve never played before. Instructional handouts and books will also be available.
