STR Transient Occupancy Tax
The Inglewood City Council is requiring that Transient Occupancy Taxes be remitted for all short-term rental activity (30 days or less) that has taken place since January 1, 2022 (payment installments can be arranged). Owners must provide the Short-Term Rental TOT Assessment Form and the Statement of Earnings from all the host platforms utilized.
For any Host that secures a Short-Term Rental Permit, timely remitting TOT for all STR activity is mandatory. The reporting and payment of TOT for short-term rentals is each calendar month. To timely file the TOT Report, payment(s) must be received by the City or postmarked before the last day of the subsequent month following the close of each month as follows:
Reporting Period | Due Date | Delinquent On |
January | February 1-28 | March 1 |
February | March 1-31 | April 1 |
March | April 1-30 | May 1 |
April | May 1-31 | June 1 |
May | June 1-30 | July 1 |
June | July 1-31 | August 1 |
July | August 1-31 | September 1 |
August | September 1-30 | October 1 |
September | October 1-31 | November 1 |
October | November 1-30 | December 1 |
November | December 1-31 | January 1 |
December | January 1-31 | February 1 |
Host will be able to access their gross TOT earnings through the Host Platforms. Upon making or submitting a payment, a copy of the Earnings Statement will be required to be submitted as well.
The onus is on the Host to ensure Transient Occupancy Taxes (TOT) is collected. If a Short Term Rental Host Platform does not receive payment for the rental, Short Term Rental Hosts are solely responsible for collecting all applicable TOT and remittance of the collected tax to the City. If a Short Term Rental Host Platform does collect payment for rentals, then it and the Short Term Rental Host shall have legal responsibility for the TOT’s collection and remittance.
If you are operating an STR and the property does not meet the City’s eligibility requirements, you must cease all STR operations, and remit TOT immediately. Failure to adhere to the City’s STR regulations will result in fines and penalties of up to 5,000 per incident.

Along with the TOT Assessment Form, the host MUST include the Statement of Gross Earnings that details the payout and the number of nights booked for each specific month.
