Residential Sound Insulation Department
Message from the Residential Sound Insulation (RSI) Department's Director
Our mission is to provide an improved quality of life for those residents impacted by aircraft noise within the 2020 Noise Exposure Contour Map. The RSI Department provides the leadership and coordination to ensure sound modification service is provided to eligible property owners in Inglewood. The Department administers grant funds provided by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) to support the Inglewood's Residential Sound Insulation Program. The entire Department is committed to provide quality service to our community through:
- Commitment to the Community
In 2015, the RSI Program was faced with a huge task to provide service to over 2,075 property units within a one (1) year time frame. Despite numerous obstacles, the Residential Sound Insulation Program worked diligently to meet the needs of our community and reached our targeted goal of completing 2,075 within the one-year time span.
Since January 2016, we are working under new FAA and LAWA guidelines including a new 2020 Noise Exposure Contour Map. Under our new guidelines we have identified approximately 3,700 additional units to service eligible property owners. Please click our RSI Program Properties by Phases Map to see where these units are located within your district.
