About the Building Safety Division


The Building Safety Division is responsible for the review, approval, and inspection of all building projects within the City. The purpose of the Building Safety Division is to enforce minimum requirements to safeguard the public health, safety and general welfare through structural strength, means of egress, stability, sanitation, adequate light and ventilation, energy conservation and green building systems, systems efficiency and property protection.

One of the primary goals of the Building Safety Division is to guide the public through the building construction process and to serve as a resource for building code and design issues.

Inspection Requests


After two business days of an issued permit, an inspection request may be made. To request an inspection, please contact the Building Safety Division at 310-412-5294. Please do not leave inspection requests' in our general voicemail. It is requested that you speak with someone in the Building Safety Division to confirm your inspection.
