The Investment Policy written by Treasurer Wanda M. Brown was awarded Certification Of Excellence by the Municipal Treasurer Association of the United States and Canada at their national conference held in Mobile Alabama on August 7.
An Investment Policy provides for prudent investment of the City's idle funds, and outlines the policies and procedures to maximize the efficiency of the city's cash management system
Treasurer Brown stated that she was very proud of her effort and said that this is the first time in the history of the city that such certification has been awarded! She went on to say that less than 50 cities in the State of California have received certification of their investment policies.
Treasurer Brown also received her re-certification as a Certified Finance Administrator at that conference.
The Investment Policy was approved and adopted by the City Council at the August 6th City Council Meeting.
