"Digital Literacy" is the ability to use computers, tablets, and smartphones to find, evaluate, create, and communicate information, requiring both cognitive and technical skills.  These 8-week classes will introduce children and teens to a Windows 10 laptop computer.  Using fun, interactive, and engaging instruction and software programs, students will learn how to use a mouse and basic keyboarding.  Students will also learn digital literacy vocabulary and applications.  They will learn computer skills while then engage in and create digital art projects.  By the end of 8 weeks, most students will have learned how to create documents for school reports using text and images.  They will be exposed to the Internet and will learn how to stay safe on websites while they learn important research skills.  They will also participate in an "Hour of Code."   All classes are taught by a professional librarian.

Space is limited to 14 students in each class.
All applicants must be able to attend all 8 classes in July and August.

Registration - May 28 - June 10, 2019
