We invite you to explore our unique space with interactive art installations and programming.  These three art installations embrace our diverse community while inspiring wonder and contemplation.

Crenshaw Art - Infinite LibraryThe Infinite Library
by Susan Simpson
A public artwork commissioned by the City of Inglewood, "The Infinite Library," created by Susan Simpson, is a sculptural cabinet holding three dioramas and three peepholes giving patrons a glimpse of libraries from around the world. The Infinite Library was installed in April  of 2017 and is on permanent display at The Crenshaw Imperial Branch Library.
Crenshaw Art - Iconic AbstractionsIconic Abstractions
by Jody Zellen
Jody Zellen’s creation of "Iconic Abstraction," covers the Library’s exterior with 11 iconic Inglewood architectural silhouettes made of brushed stainless steel to fit inside the scallops at the top of the building.  For more information about the artist:  www.jodyzellen.com

Flashlight
Our most recent temporary exhibit, "Flashlight," tells the story of Black American Children’s Literature, encouraging children to read and write by showcasing true to life characters in an interactive display.  With traditional art forms, video installations, and live exhibits, FLASHLIGHT shines light on the past, celebrates the present, and makes way for the future.
