In light of the evolving concerns of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the Governor’s direction on mass gatherings, the City of Inglewood is taking the following steps to ensure the health and safety of our community and our employees.
The Library will be closed from March 16 through March 31.
All library programs and events have been cancelled.

To advocate for the Inglewood Public Library by bringing the services of the Library to the attention of the public and by raising money to assist the library.

Seek gifts, endowments, and bequests on behalf of the Inglewood Library
Sponsor programs designed to enrich literacy and the cultural life of our community

2018 Activities

Activities Funded

  • Supported part of the Library’s Summer Reading Program
  • Supported the Library’s on-line high school diploma program with funds raised through a community fundraising  campaign

 Major Fundraising Sources 

  • Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter Book Sales in the Library Depository-10,000 books for sale
  • Inglewood Library lobby book store - ongoing sales
  • Citywide Martin Luther King Day book sale

Special Donations to FOIPL

  • We received a donation of 10,000 books from Alias Books, valued at  $10-20,000 in 2017. We continue to generate funds from this major gift.

Community Connections 

  • Donated over 200 books to the Books, Boys and Barbers in Inglewood Barber Shops.

2019 Goals
  • Strengthen fundraising by holding more book sales and enhancing the IPL Lobby bookstore. 
  • Expand visibility and outreach by launching our FOIPL web site and creating electronic communication and donation systems.
