Who should I contact to make arrangements to reserve the picnic area?
Please call Darby Park at 310-412-5391, Rogers Park at 310-412-5504 or Vincent Park at 310-412-5370.

Are there athletic or fitness programs for adults?
Yes. The City’s Sports Program offers recreational opportunities for adults interested in tennis, basketball, swimming and softball. Additionally, racquet ball and weight room facilities are available for use by adult participants. For more information, contact the Sports Section at 310-412-5370.

Can I pay cash when registering for a class?
All fees must be paid by check or money order. No cash will be accepted.

How do I register to take a class at an Inglewood park or recreation center?
Registration for all recreation and cultural classes is required in advance and will be accepted prior to the first day of class - by mail and in person. All sessions are offered on a monthly basis unless otherwise noted.
Mail-in Registration
Mail-in registration will be accepted from the first of the month to the 20th of the month for enrollment in classes beginning the following month. Note: Mail must be postmarked no later than the 20th. Please do not send cash.
To register, complete the Registration Form for recreation and cultural classes, include a check or money order made payable to “City of Inglewood” and send to:

General Registration
General registration will be taken at Inglewood City Hall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. at the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department Office, located at:

General registration is taken up until the 20th of each month.
Registration taken via mail-in and at City Hall will be given enrollment and waiting list priority.
Onsite Registration
Participants may register the third week of the month, from 5 to 9 p.m.; at the site the class is being offered.

How do I reserve a meeting room?
A Facility Reservation Form must be completed by the requestor. A form may be obtained and reservations made by visiting your local park and recreation center. The City’s parks and recreation facilities may be reserved for meetings, events, weddings or social functions and private picnics. Because of the popularity of the facilities, requests for reservation are accepted on a first come, first served basis up to 3 months in advance of the requested date
Example: all February dates are available for reservation effective November 1st or the first working day of November of the preceding year.

What are some recreation programs for children?
The Recreation Division provides a variety of opportunities for children to participate enjoyable recreation and cultural programs and activities, including early childhood development classes, after-school recreation, sports, and more. Learn more at our

What are some code enforcement violations?
Some examples of code enforcement violations are:
- Open vacant buildings
- overgrown grass, weeds and debris
- Discarded furniture and appliances
- Inoperable/abandoned vehicles
- Garage conversions
- Auto repairs
- Garage sales
- Animal regulations
- Trash containers stored in front yards

What happens if a class is cancelled?
A full refund will be given for all cancelled classes. All other requests for refund must be made in writing and received prior to the 2nd-class meeting. Please allow 4 - 6 weeks for processing.

Where do I go to obtain tree root destroyer?
Root destroyer can be obtained by visiting the Pulic Works Department at:

Who do I contact to have my tree trimmed?
Persons interested in having their tree trimmed must first contact the Tree Maintenance Section by phone 310-412-8750 or by visiting the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department at Inglewood City Hall

How often are trees trimmed?
In most cases, there is a 3-year turn around. However, depending on species of the tree or if the tree is in a high profile area such as downtown or high traffic areas, trees will be trimmed annually or bi-annually. For example, trees in the downtown area (La Brea Avenue, Manchester Boulevard, Market Street) are trimmed annually for the holidays.

What is the Tree Master Plan?
The Tree Master Plan is an inventory of all City trees on center medians and parkways. The Tree Master Plan is used as a reference guide recommending removal of diseased or declining trees or when replacing a tree. It recommends three species of trees for replacement.
15.
What does root pruning mean?
Root pruning is cutting roots that run along the sidewalk or curb line that may cause damage to the sidewalk or curb.
16.
When a tree is removed, what happens next?
Once a tree is removed, the stump is scheduled for removal within the next 2 days. Replanting of a new tree follows within the next 2 weeks.

Do I have choices on what type of tree is to be planted?
Yes. The Tree Master Plan recommends 3 species for each location. You must select from the 3.

Are unleashed dogs allowed at parks?
No. The Inglewood Municipal Code requires all dogs to be on a cord or chain not more than 6 feet long. Section 5-64. There are signs throughout the Inglewood parks that point out dogs must be leashed.

21.
Why is there an odor while the sprinklers are on?
The City of Inglewood uses reclaimed water to irrigate the green spaces.
