What is a Residential Permit Parking Program?

Permit Parking Districts are parking zones or Districts in residential or business areas that specifically limit on-street parking to area residents with a valid permit. Permit Parking Districts have been activated for all 11 neighborhoods that alignment with the four City Council Districts. Permit Parking Districts 3C thru 11 will be activated as part of the new Citywide Permit parking Program.  Permit Parking Districts 1, 2, 3A and 3B will have pre-approved parking restrictions; however, these restrictions will not be activated and will remain inactive until it is determined that full time restriction are necessary. To activate parking restrictions in Permit Parking Districts 1, 2, 3A and 3B residents must submit a petition to the public work department. Permits may potentially reduce the need for residents to compete for on-street parking but having a permit does not guarantee a parking spot.
