Christopher E Jackson, Sr., has been employed with the City of Inglewood since July 2008. Starting as a Planner in the Planning Division, he advanced within the city and was appointed as the Department Manager in June 2015.

Professional Background

Mr. Jackson started his professional career in 1987, working with municipal governments throughout California in such cities as San Dimas, Tustin, Whittier and Los Angeles. Mr. Jackson served as the Senior Planner for the City of Whittier and was instrumental in the updating of the city's General Plan. During this period he was worked closely with the directors of the various departments and managed the General Plan Advisory Committee with over 20 stakeholders. While working at the City of Los Angeles, he was responsible for the Ventura/Cahuenga Boulevard Corridor Specific Plan with spans over 22 miles in length and was the point staff for the Ventura Boulevard Plan Review Board which was reinitiated during his tenure.

As a planner with the City of Inglewood, Mr. Jackson was handpicked to lead the city team to process the discretionary actions concerning the major renovation to the Forum and the Hollywood Park Tomorrow project. Most recently he was the lead planner for the City of Champions Revitalization Initiative which resulted in the approval to construct a NFL spec stadium and performance venue to be located within the Hollywood Park Tomorrow project area.

Personal Life

Mr. Jackson is a board member of the Planning in the Black Community Division (PBCD) of the American Planning Association (ABA), the Immediate Past President of Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity, Inc., Beta Psi Lambda Chapter (Los Angeles) and an ordained minister. He holds a degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the Cal Poly Pomona and is a City of Los Angeles native having grown up in South Central Los Angeles.
